- Interested in Dynamic GP+ & Urgent Care? We got you!
Description
We're a private practice team of 8 recent grad DVMs who love advanced medicine, case collaboration, and client education – looking for our next teammate.
We love colleagues who are keen to jump-in, want to learn and grow, and enjoy a dynamic, team-based work day.
We are a true melting pot of doctors – hailing from TAMU, OSU, ILLINOIS, MIZZOU, GUELPH & GLASGOW and LOVE to teach. We mentor over 30 soon to be or aspiring veterinary colleagues each year through externships and as an clinical teaching partner site for Texas Tech’s SVM. It is vital that you should enjoy mentoring and giving back to our profession as well!
Some other important take-aways that you probably would like to know:
#1 Compensation: all of our associates receive salary based compensation based upon an avg 37hr work week (range 34-40). We do this to promote a clinical environment focused on client education stewardship and buy-in, as well as to prioritize what’s best for the pet and their owner ethics.
A salary range from $120 - 170K+ is available DOE in addition but not limited to: paid maternity leave, three weeks vacation, regular three day weekends and $3000 CE annually.
Our current team is paid more than their production based income would be. We want you to be fairly remunerated, our patients to receive services and care based independently of a need to "sell". We will keep collaborative teamwork and education based acceptance of treatment plans at the forefront of our culture.
#2 We believe in open communication: and seek input and development of our medicine practices, our processes, our hospital decision making and our vision for the future with our team’s feedback.
#3 Great Medicine: It comes from a collaborative approach. Working together to provide the most up to date practices and education for our clients and their companions. We do this through challenging the status quo on the services a traditional GP clinic offers - our associates call us "GP+ practitioners" (advanced soft tissue surgeries, multi-modal pain management, cutting edge tools, advanced in clinic abdominal and cardiac ultrasounds, etc) while staying on top of pharmaceutical offerings and medical techniques. We believe in client education as being one of the greatest tools we have at our disposal. Combining this all with an awareness of spectrum of care medicine that meets the needs of our patients and their owners is paramount.
#4 Great Workplace: a team that tells dad jokes, celebrates “Worksgiving” and other teammate milestones, offers paid maternity leave and is accommodating of life's ups and downs that happen outside of our 4 walls.
#5 Great Mentors: we love to teach, and learn. We aspire to support development of our teammates medicine and communication skills - a well rounded veterinary professional's learning pathway is never complete. All 8 of our doctors joined us as new graduates due to this focus, and they each seek to uphold this same outlook with us today. Our team finds fulfillment in sparking this same excitement in the many dvm, technician and undergrad student externs we host annually, as well as our local high school CVA program participants. These are our future colleagues and we love spreading the love for vet medicine to these eager individuals.
#6 Diverse Caseload: We are true generalists. We see cases ranging from routine wellness, advanced surgery and dentistry, hospitalization and management of critical and IM cases, extended urgent care hours, to daytime emergency. We see 30minute staggered appointments with a technician led team. We believe in giving back by partnering with local rescue and shelter organizations to help the less fortunate pets of our community.
#7 COMMUNITY: The majority of our team resides within the Lake Jackson area and commutes the 6 mile (9minute drive) to Freeport. Lake Jackson is adorned by century old oak trees, stays green more than 80% of the year, and has diverse locally owned eateries and shops to enjoy. We are a quick drive to the sandy beach of the Texas Guelph Coast. There are ample outdoor opportunities on the water, local community festivals and fairs, or take a short trip up to H-town (Houston) to catch a concert and a night out.
