About You:
This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys a mix of complex cases, urgent care, surgery, and wellness within a predictable schedule. The role blends appointments and walk-ins, keeping work varied while supporting timely, high-quality patient care in a collaborative team environment.
The Role:
This role includes walk-in urgent care, wellness, and sick visits, with opportunities for urgent surgeries without emergency or overnight coverage requirements.
You will:
See walk-in urgent care cases throughout the day
Support walk-in wellness and overflow appointments from other DVMs as needed
Perform urgent surgeries (e.g., wound repairs, mass removals, pyometra when stable, GI foreign bodies as appropriate)
Perform routine soft tissue surgery if needed.
Collaborate with other doctors and a skilled technical team
Practice high-quality medicine with appropriate diagnostics and treatment plans
Experience & Skills Requirements:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required.
State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date.
Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible.
About The Hospital:
Thrive Round Rock is a general and urgent care practice located in Round Rock, Texas, focusing on:
Minor, non-life-threatening emergencies (lacerations, limping/pain, mild allergic reactions, GI upset without dehydration, ear infections, UTIs, non-obstructed FLUTD/FUS)
Referred cases from general practices when timely care isn’t available
Wellness visits
Illness and chronic disease management

About the UC/GP Hybrid Role:
This position addresses a critical community need by providing efficient, compassionate care for non-critical cases, reducing wait times while maintaining high medical standards. We offer both walk-ins and appointments and coordinate closely with primary veterinarians to ensure continuity of care.
Minor emergencies that are not life-threatening, such as lacerations, limping/painful pets, hypersensitivity reactions, vomiting, and/or diarrhea without significant dehydration, ear infections causing discomfort, urinary tract infections, non-obstructed FLUTD/FUS patients, etc.
Cases that are referred to by general practice veterinarians because they are unable to see them in a timely manner and fit within the scope of care we provide.

The UC/GP Hybrid position has been designed to meet a key need in our community and hospital. We aim to provide efficient, compassionate care for patients with non-critical conditions so they receive high-quality care without the wait! We offer walk-ins and appointments for a range of conditions. We maintain close contact with the primary veterinarians to ensure patients return for ongoing care with their family veterinarians.
We are open Monday – Saturday, 10:00 am-8:00 pm, and Sunday, 12:00 pm-5:00 pm
