Company Profile
East End Animal Surgery and Urgent Care
Company Overview
Veterinary Urgent Care Houston is a values-led, community-first urgent care practice serving the East End of Houston, with a second location in Beaumont. Founded by former shelter veterinarian Dr. Mackenzie Gallegos, the clinic exists to make veterinary care more accessible, understandable, and welcoming for families who have never had a relationship with a vet. The team delivers compassionate, evidence-based spectrum-of-care medicine without judgement, shame, or corporate pressure. With empowered technicians, strong teamwork, and a culture built on respect, learning, and shared purpose, this is urgent care that proves excellent medicine can also be equitable.
Company History
Veterinary Urgent Care Houston was founded by Dr. Mackenzie Gallegos, a former shelter veterinarian who saw first-hand how many families in the community lacked access to timely, compassionate veterinary care. The practice was built to bridge that gap by offering evidence-based urgent care that meets clients where they are, without judgement or corporate pressure. Based in Houston’s East End in a distinctive 1930s Art Deco building with deep roots in local animal welfare, the clinic has grown steadily through word of mouth and trust. Today, it has expanded to a second location in Beaumont while staying firmly mission-led.
